Welcome to Terraless

A land of magic, a strange being known only as She Who Has Not Been Named...

Waking up on a new day with a cat draped over your face might be okay if you, like the heroine of our story, are a cat-lover, but finding out that everything, even the cat, seems not quite the same, and that – although ‘nature abhors a vacuum’ – your mind is as empty as that seemingly impossible-to-achieve state, might make your new day seem altogether too new, too full of unknowns.

Once in modern-day Canada, now...

Living in Terraless

Alone – except for a cat and something outside that screams, breaking the total silence and peacefulness

Floorboards – well polished, no sign of carpets, no running water, no electricity, not even any lamps

Paintings and carvings of knights and dragons on the walls and ceilings

One slightly smelly medieval latrine

One bed, but all other rooms are empty

No interior doors, except the heavily-armoured one on the armoury - a room which is full of medieval weaponry, bows & arrows, swords & shields, and stacks of metal sheets & blank disks.

All in a place that's like a fortress – the exterior door is heavy, plated with brassy metal, and the windows are barred

Now our heroine is in Terraless (though she does not know this), she finds that the days are continually and fairly brightly lit without any sign of a coming night.

She must decide how to figure out where she is, why she is there and what she needs to do, and to do this she must arm herself with a sword and the bow and arrows that seem so familiar, so easy to use.

Thorby Rudbek writes both Fantasy and Sci-Fi...
See the

Galactic Citadel website for details of the three novels currently published in that series.

Meanwhile, in Terraless:

One heroine finds a supply of perfectly fitting clothes and boots, a bow custom-made for her, and even a shield which doubles as a mirror!

Terraless: eternally lit by creature-power, filled with endless fields of wheat, populated by a scattering of feudal inhabitants controlled by the soldiers of the sinister Seirchaal – and no one who can remember anything beyond their arrival three years earlier!
